Austria’s producer prices decreased at a faster pace in October, preliminary figures from Statistics Austria showed Monday.
The producer price index fell 2.0 percent year-over-year in October, following a 1.7 percent drop in the previous month. Producer prices have bee falling since February 2013.
The annual decline in October was largely caused by a 7.3 percent sharp fall in energy prices. Prices for intermediate goods slid 1.1 percent, while that for capital goods grew by 0.6 percent.
On a monthly basis, producer prices dropped 0.4 percent in October, which was worse than the 0.2 percent fall in September. It was the fourth month of decline in a row.
