The euro weakened against the other major currencies in the pre-European session on Tuesday.
The euro fell to nearly a 3-year low of 123.62 against the yen, from an early high of 124.61.
The euro dropped to an 11-day low of 1.0968 against the Swiss franc, from an early 4-day high of 1.1027.
Against the pound, the U.S. and the Australian dollars, the euro edged down to 0.7809, 1.1021 and 1.5227 from early highs of 0.7832, 1.1049 and 1.5311, respectively.
If the euro extends its downtrend, it is likely to find support around 120.00 against the yen, 1.08 against the franc, 0.76 against the pound, 1.08 against the greenback and 1.49 against the aussie.
