Japan Trade Balance 823.5B vs. 540.0B estimate

The surplus in Japan widened to 823.5B vs 540.0B estimate – much better than expected and higher than the prior month at 754.2B. 

The increased surplus was on the back of a larger than expected decline in imports (-23.3% YoY vs -19.2%).  The Exports were also lower at -10.1% vs -9.9%.
