New Zealand May retail card spending -0.3% vs +0.5% expected

Kiwi credit card sales data:

– Prior was +0.9%

– Total spending -0.6% vs +1.5% prior

Poor numbers. The RBNZ isn’t sure which way the economy is going to go. They showed a hawkish bias developing yesterday but they will cut if numbers like this pile up ahead of the August meeting.
