The Japanese yen strengthened against the other major currencies in the late Asian session on Wednesday.
The yen rose to 120.35 against the U.S. dollar, from an early 2-day low of 120.58.
Against the euro, the pound and the Swiss franc, the yen edged up to 131.56, 178.55 and 121.31 from early lows of 131.76, 178.77 and 121.51, respectively.
If the yen extends its uptrend, it is likely to find resistance around 119.50 against the greenback, 130.00 against the euro, 177.00 against the pound and 120.00 against the franc.
