The Australian dollar strengthened against the other major currencies in the Asian session on Thursday.
The Australian dollar rose to nearly a 3-month high of 1.4843 against the euro and more than a 2-month high of 0.7321 against the U.S. dollar, from yesterday’s closing quotes of 1.4895 and 0.7294, respectively.
Against the yen and the Canadian dollar, the aussie advanced to nearly a 4-week high of 83.29 and a 6-day high of 0.9817 from yesterday’s closing quotes of 82.76 and 0.9784, respectively.
The aussie edged up to 1.0958 against the NZ dollar, from yesterday’s closing value of 1.0919.
If the aussie extends its uptrend, it is likely to find resistance around 1.43 against the euro, 0.73 against the greenback, 86.00 against the yen, 1.00 against the loonie and 1.10 against the kiwi.
