The U.S. Energy Information Administration reported a 10.4 million-barrel climb in crude-oil supplies for the week ended Feb. 26.
However, domestic production has slowed, raising hopes the worst of the supply glut is over.
US stockpiles have swelled to record highs, with storage facilities running out of room to put excess oil.
